About

Hi, I'm Lad Argonza, the thought collector at Wakay Diaries. I was captivated by Andy Warhol's 15 Minutes Eternal exhibit, and that delightful encounter with him compelled me to start a “creative” life. Yet figuring the “what” didn't come as lucid as the motivating force. (Long story). Faced with the pressure of my post-grad life, I took the art and craft of telling stories on paper.

I created Wakay Diaries in 2014 as a personal journal where I document the things that make me homesick. It has since evolved into a digital embodiment of all that I love and am passionate about.

Written from the perspective of a Batanes-born copywriter, Wakay Diaries functions on the belief that there's more to a person than one thing, which has different meanings for everyone. This blog is an invitation to relate, connect and learn amidst the curbs of diversity, language, distance and culture.
